Jane Darveau, M.Ed., earned a master’s degree in the Counseling Psychology program at the Lynch School of Education at Boston College. She worked for 35 years as a public school Guidance Counselor in Reading, Massachusetts, serving as Director of Guidance for 25 of those years.  Mrs. Darveau has helped thousands of students and families successfully navigate the college selection and application processes. She has organized and/or been a keynote speaker at numerous events including Financial Aid presentations, Regional College Fairs, Career Days, and informational seminars for parents/guardians and students. In addition to her duties at Jandl Associates, Mrs. Darveau also works as a part-time Guidance Counselor at a private high school. She is a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the National Education Association.

Richard Darveau, Ph.D., earned a doctorate in the Counseling Psychology program at the Lynch School at Boston College and, in 1992, co-founded Jandl Associates. He has provided career counseling services to high school and college students, hourly and salaried employees, managers, and executives. He co-authored a study with Boston University faculty members about the effects of job loss on families and was interviewed about the project in a Wall Street Journal article. Dr. Darveau co-founded the Boston Chapter of the International Association of Career Management Professionals and has been a presenter at the parent organization’s annual global conference. He has presented employment-search seminars at the Harvard Business School, the Boston College Carroll School of Management, Brandeis University, Simmons College, and Wellesley College. Dr. Darveau is a consultant to area businesses, and has particular expertise in psychological and vocational assessments.
